Benda

Benda is a spanish greyhound (Galgo espanol) and -with 81/2 years- the eldest dog in the pack

Benda is a Galgo-espanol-Mix-bitch. She was born October 17th 2002 in Spain. With about eight weeks, she, her mother and her brothers and sisters where brought to Germany, to the Albert-Schweitzer Shelter in Kranenburg. I found here there at the age of four month.

After a short while I realized what an effervescence she's got.

We visited a good dog school and the trainers where amazed by her. She always was presented as the cleverest dog. First I was just proud about it, but soon I realized what it is about having a dog like that. She was able to open doors, drawers, she learned just by watching me doing things. I needed to be always one step ahead, no easy thing with a breed like a greyhound.

With my former for cats she was doing just fine, and she loves children. You often get the impression, that she watches and analyses things very interested to understand them.

She is a very, very special dog, and I'm very lucky that we found each other!

What are Bendas tricks?

Beside all general commands like sit down etc. she can:

"Roll over" (doing a roll)

"Be ashamed" (puts her paw over her nose)

"play dead" (lays on her side without moving)

"tidy up" (fetches her toys an puts them in a box)

New ideas and tricks are learned very fast. We do clicker-training and she just loves it.

Benda started playing dog-frisbee at the age of six month. That means, she ignored the discs. Sometimes she was motivated enough to take a disk but most of the training time she was buys chasing butterflies. Who need Frisbees if there are butterflies?

After a good motivation training she began to enjoy playing frisbee. Through her good eye and her high speed she would be great for this sport.

Even if she likes playing dogfrisbee now, you see the difference when she is doing tricks, she loves that!
